Okay just for this tutorial I decided to make a texture pack with all the numbers to make it easier for you to make, so please like the post if you download, it took me a really long time just to make it, the download link is here

For this tutorial I used the beautiful Gillian Zinser for the edit, firstly I opened up the textures then made a NEW layer; FILE > NEW  then I just dragged texture (2) layer twice into the new layer, it should look like this (yours might look different cause I edited mine a bit)

Now its time to the fairly hard part, cutting the picture into the the shapes…Okay this is kinda difficult so you need to read carefully open up your picture, I picked this:

image

Add a psd and sharpen or whatever you want to do to make the picture look quality, and after you do all of that you decrease the size of the picture if its big like mine or bigger so it could fit into the GROUP LAYER; IMAGE > IMAGE SIZE then drag the picture that you chose to the bottom of the number you chose group layer like so:

image

Your picture should look like this under the layers with the line on top:

Now its time for the difficult part I’ve be talking about so pay full attention to this, you’re gonna have to cut the pic into the shape (IT WILL BE DIFFICULT TO CUT PICTURES WITH WHITE BACKGROUND LIKE THE ONE I HAVE ABOVE SO TRY AVOIDING THAT YOU CAN)

I’ll be cutting with the polygon lasso tool:

image

Now go back to your number edit that you’re making and start cutting, in order to cut with the polygon lasso tool you need patience, if you’re just starting for the first time I cant guarantee you that you’d get it on your first go it depends on how good you are on Photoshop  you might and you might not, okay first start by zooming in maybe thrice into the pic however how you feel comfortable.

YOU CUT BY CLICKING ON THESE SIDES ONE BY ONE AND DOUBLE CLICK WHEN YOU JOINED THE POINTS TOGETHER IT SHOULD LOOK LIKE THIS

image

AND THEN RIGHT CLICK THEN CLICK ON SELECT INVERSE

image

it should look like this now that you’ve clicked select inverse

image

Now just press delete, it should look like this, exactly what it should look like

image

Just follow this tutorial to do all of the remaining shapes and it should hopefully turn out like this (or better)
